ABOUT RYAP
Our Vision
The association is led by Rohingya youth who are determined to build a better future for themselves and all of the Rohingya and Burmese Muslim families in Portland. At RYAP, we are aware of the obstacles refugees face while trying to adjust to a new environment, culture and language. We believe that with the right support, the Rohingya and Burmese Muslim families will acclimate faster and be able to survive with the skills they develop over time.
Who are the Rohingya?
The Rohingya people are a mostly Muslim ethnic minority group from north- western Myanmar in an area known as Rakhine State.
Wellness for All
In partnership with other CBOs we educate and counter gender-based and domestic violence, support traumatized women and children and support community based mental health.
